What is Antron?
Antron reflects light. It is Nylon, but the filaments of regular Nylon are round
and the filaments of Antron are flat sided. The multiple flat surfaces of the nylon find light reflection no matter which direction it is coming from – this is what makes this material essential to LaFontaine patterns.
The first flies ever tied with Antron were Gary’s
Deep Sparkle Pupa, Emergent Sparkle Pupa, and Diving Caddis, but material also works for wings on the
Clear Wing Spinner, Diving Caddis,
and other patterns from Trout Flies Proven Patterns.
